Projects - TB Alert's Project work
Our work

What work do we support

TB Alert supports work in countries where there is a great deal of tuberculosis and also some activities in the TB field in Britain. Through our support, we want to add to the number of individuals who get good TB treatment. Around the world, too many people die from lack of access to care. Too many people get inadequate treatment, raising the danger of multi-drug resistance.

We always try to work through local partner organisations which themselves operate in close collaboration with the TB programme of the government health services. This is extremely important with an infectious disease like TB to ensure that our effort is a part of achieving good treatment for a whole country.

Recently, to help ensure our relatively small funds have real impact, we have agreed to give our grant-giving a particular focus, supporting the community, nursing and paramedical aspect of TB programmes - adding a human and social dimension to good tuberculosis care.

Our Trustees and Advisory Broad include many of the most eminent TB experts and researchers based in Britain. Their expertise will ensure effective assessment and monitoring of projects. Click here to find out more about the people in TB Alert.

Currently we have projects in India, Bangladesh, Zambia, Malawi and Zimbabwe – as well as the UK. Click on any country to find out more about our work there.
