Take up a Charity Challenge and raise money for TB Alert’s vital work whilst experiencing the trip of a lifetime!

What’s on offer?

Ever dreamt about trekking through the Avenue of the Volcanoes in Ecuador or in the footsteps of the Masai in Tanzania? How about cycling along the shores of Lake Malawi, or sleeping under the stars in Oman? Climbing to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro? These are just some of the destinations TB Alert can offer you if you are willing to take up an adventure challenge, with a difference. We can promise you a unique view of some fascinating countries, enough memories to last a lifetime and the chance to make new friends whilst helping people with TB get access to effective treatment in poor countries around the world.

What’s it all about?

By taking up a Charity Challenge, you will be raising vital funds for TB Alert, whilst exploring corners of the world far from the normal tourist trail. There are a wide range of itineraries available, taking in all four corners of the globe, and three different levels of difficulty; moderate, challenging, tough or extreme, so there should be something to suit everybody. On a Charity Challenge you will find participants of all ages and from all walks of life. They are not necessarily just for the super fit, the only thing everyone will have in common is a sense of adventure, and a desire to challenge themselves by doing something a little bit different. You will be amazed by the range of people you will meet and by the country you will get to explore.

How do I take part?

To take part you need to pay a registration fee (usually around £5-600), and then pledge to raise a minimum sponsorship amount. From this your tour costs will be paid, but at least 60% of the money that you have raised will come to TB Alert. Alternatively you can choose to pay the full cost of the trip yourself, which will include a donation of £100 to TB Alert, and raise any sponsorship money you like on top of that. Throughout you will receive support from Charity Challenge and TB Alert, helping you to be fully prepared for the event as well as fundraising advice.

Where do I find out more?

For more information on how to take part, what itineraries are available, how fit you have to be, tips on raising funds and any further details, you can check the Charity Challenge website, at www.charitychallenge.com – everything you need to know is there. If you register for a trip they will let us know so that we can provide you with information and anything else you need to help you raise your sponsorship funds.
