Awareness raising in 18 Miles

The Chichetekelo Outreach Partners  implemented the sensitization and community mobilization programme in an area of Kabwe called “18 Miles”.

Despite heavy rains, the villagers were very organized and many people from different communities were already gathered to meet the Outreach Partners when they arrived.

The audience asked were eager to find out more about the casues of and cures for TB, and asked many questions, particularly regarding the link between TB and HIV/AIDS.

They also advised the outreach partners of the difficulties they had encountered in accessing TB treatment because of the diagnosis process (especially the xray) being very expensive. This means they often end up resorting to traditional remedies which are largely uneffective.
