Conclusions from the Chichetekelo Outreach Partners Project, Kabwe

Overall, the conclusions we can draw from this project are largely positive. It was undoubtedly the first project of its kind, especially in that it targeted the deprived rural communities of the Kabwe distrcit, where little has been done to combat Tuberculosis.

We believe our work here, in the training of the Chichetekelo Outreach Partners and subsequent sensitisation sessions has been largely successful, and could be used as an example for other TB and HIV/AIDS programs.

The major challenge we faced was that the activities were carried out during a period when many people were busy with farming activities, and heavy rainfall meant that it was harder to organise and run the sessions smoothly.

Nevertheless, we feel that the activities we carried out were a great success. They succedeed in having a positive impact on the many people the project was able to reach, and will hopefully continue to do so through those we have educated about TB passing this information on.
