Activists storm World Conference on Lung Health

Demonstrators stormed the opening of the Stop TB Symposium at the World Conference on Lung Health today in Paris, taking to the stage to demand better progress towards eliminating TB and a target of zero TB deaths.

Treatment Action Group’s representative Colleen Daniels then made an impassioned speech. Her call for delegates to aim for zero TB deaths, zero new infections and zero suffering and stigma was met with audience applause, many of them taking to their feet in support.

This is the first time that the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease has awarded 100 free registrations to the conference for civil society delegates and representatives of communities affected by TB.
