Tuberculosis is a hidden global emergency. TB is the leading cause of death from an infectious disease and causes 1.8 million deaths a year. Despite this, TB has a low profile on the global political agenda and hasn’t received the attention or resources it deserves.
You can make a difference by making sure your MP is aware of the urgency of the problem and asking them to support the call for a UN High-Level Meeting on TB in September 2017 at the UN General Assembly in New York – a proposal first put forward by Dr Aaron Motsoaledi, Chair of the Stop TB Partnership and Minister of Health of South Africa.
